The competition was aimed at the students that are part of the Child and Youth Development (CYD) programme and allowed the participants to explore the fundamentals of Literacy and academic disciplines. The event took place in the form of a Spelling Bee that tested the students’ vocabulary & study skills along with the improvement of their self-confidence and public speaking capabilities.
With the intention of expanding its charitable footprint, Rookie USA has made significant contributions to the foundation throughout the year, including sponsoring prizes and monetary donations. The brand’s level of participation in charitable events has successfully progressed and has been a key benefactor throughout Afrika Tikkun’s projects. Rookie USA has been working with several well-known South African influencers over the past few months in order to generate a generous monetary donation of R50 000. Each influencer strived to deliver their social media posts, which amounted to R1 000 per post. In addition to the donation, the brand sponsored a range of branded lunch boxes for each winner, allowing them to walk out with both a well-deserved medal and a gift in celebration of their achievements.
Rookie USA Brand and Marketing Manager, Lee-Anne McKenzie says:
